Welcome to Boxwood Cottage!

So glad that you found me! My blog is about everything I love like gardening, decorating my home & garden and crafting. Although I'm from Germany I write my blog in English so that hopefully every visitor can read it. Hope you'll stay a while and will leave me a comment so that I know that you were here! xoxo Carola

It's getting bigger

At first I thought I will never get my altered book ready, but it's getting bigger almost every day now and I have the feeling it will be finished soon.

Random Info:

If you click on the "Garden Tea Time" pic, you can spot my mum and me drinking tea in the lovely garden pavilion of a good friend.

The last roses of the season

I've decided to better take them in the house, because it's dark and rainy outside.

My kitchen

Today I give a glimpse into my kitchen. Well the nice people who sold me the house and who have a more modern taste, have left their kitchen in it. So I left my lovely country kitchen in my old house and have sold it to my old landlord. Now I have to live with this modern kitchen. *rolleyes* I have decorated it with my old stuff and it looks still modern. I want my old kitchen back and my gas stove, I can't really cook on this expensive modern ceran stove. One thing I'm going to change as soon as I can afford it is the black surface, I dont like that at all, I want it in wood/lumber!

A little glimpse into my home

I guess you like to have a look into other people homes just as much as I do, that's why I thought it would be nice to post a picture of my home from time to time, so here we go:

What I love to collect

amongst a lot of other things is the Gardeners Collection from Crabtree & Evelyn and the lavender and rose stuff of course, I display it all in my bathroom:

Just how?

I'd really like to know how I can decorate my blog. I've been visiting some vintage blogs today and they had such lovely flower decorating. I wish I could do that too.

A still life

and more of my altered book pages

my garden book is growing again!

My front garden

I took this photo out of the first floor window.

A little painting

I've painted this 4 years ago in my sis' studio (she is an artist/paintress). It's part of my fall decoration now.

Some fall decoration

as requested by Zoey ;-)

Vine leaves and pommes granates on my fake fireplace. (Unfortunately I have no real fire place, so I've asked my Dad to build me one out of wood and he did :D )

I need more space for flowers

My garden is very small as you can see on this photo, but I need more space for roses and perennials and bulbs of course, that's why on saturday we've started to make the flowerbed bigger. It's not yet ready, first I have to decide how big I want it. I wonder if I want it to go as far as the red Sedum or only to the purple Aster. He he difficult decision lol

Finally!

The leaves are starting to turn into gorgeous shades of red and yellow. When I looked out of my kitchen window yesterday morning it looked as if the Aronia was burning, because the sun was shining right through it. Unfortunately on the picture it doesn't look as beautiful as it did in reality.

Bulb page!

This time it's not all about seeds like the two double pages before, but all about bulbs!

I'm coming back later to read my comments etc., I have to leave the pc now, there is so much work waiting for me in the house and the garden *sigh*

Little Blue- and Coal Titmice

These shots are still from my old garden, last fall, but I hope to get some good or let's say hopefully better bird photos this fall/winter. My favourite garden bird is the European Robin, but I've never tried to get a photo of him, this has to change!
