Light-blue-grey-green?

My fave color for the Advent/Christmas decoration this year is not red and silver like it usually used to be, no this year it's a mix of turquoise, grey-green and light blue, which you can for example see here in the table decoration that I did this morning and it also shows in almost all of my crafts and collages, for example in the Christmas stocking (click on "stocking" to see if you have missed it) which I've already created in September.

On a curly hazelnut branch I've decorated some of my Christmas cones

I've finished this Christmas cone today, you can see another one that I've finished last month, also in my fave color theme here

This X-mas card I've finished last night, in my fave color of course:

Can you see the garland with green and turqoise Christmas ornaments that I've tighten between the two white posts in my living room?

A little bit closer look:

This one is my favorite Christmas ornament from "Housedoctor", I so love almost all of their decoration items, because they have such a lovely vintage touch.

I'm not yet finished with the Advent decoration, but at least I've had a good start today which has really brought me into the festive mood again :D So what's about you, have you already started to decorate for Christmas, do you have a new color scheme, or do you prefer the traditional red/green? Well of course I also have to find a few corners for my red and silver decoration items somewhere in the house but there are still a few days to do this before the first of Advent next Sunday.

CAROL,
Glad to see you are back, miss you when you are off for a few days.
New colors for this year are very pretty, funny how we change isn't it. I like the rose colors and green.

Hi Carol, I just finished decorating the outside of my house and spent all of last afternoon and into the evening going from store to store trying to decide on the colour scheme for my outdoor decorations. I too longed to do something different. I began with the traditional red and green and quickly threw that out. Then I picked up copper and gold but thought it would get lost against my house. Then I picked up this beautiful peacock ornament with glorious shades of turquoise, green and hints of copper. Alas couldn't find anything else to go with it. So my long story ends with me choosing various shades of pink and a charteuse-lime like green. I'm quite happy with it but glad that I can visit your site and still get my hit of turquoise, blue and greens. Looks beautiful!! Love the faux fireplace and cones. You should seriously think of starting your own decorating business. TWT

Die neue Farbkombination bei dir gefällt mir sehr gut. Vor allem die Girlande an der Decke hat es mir angetan, das werde ich dieses Jahr auch mal probieren.

Hello Carol, Your decorations are beautiful! I guess I decorate with a little bit of everything! My tree is full of decorations that my mom has bought since I was a little girl, and treasure my own children have made. I have a number of different nativity scenes up around the house and lots of lights.
Thank you for sharing your beautiful pictures.

Oh Carol, your home looks so festive and pretty. I love the softer colors of Christmas too, but I tend towards the traditional red and green with my Santas and old fashioned looking and vintage things that were mostly made in those colors.
You've done a lovely job of decorating...thank you for sharing it with all of us.

I'd like to use new colours some day too. Every year I have different colour with my Christmas tree: gold, red or silver/white or a mix. I think turquoise would look great and so it does when I'm looking your pics. I like your decorations a lot.Especially the garland is soooo great! Your Christmas card: "Hyvää joulua" makes me smile. It would be nice to hear the pronouncing...haa, enjoy the decoration time. LOL

Oh Carol, what a cosy home you have! It all looks so pretty and welcoming. Unfortunately, your colours would not at all fit to our living room. I have not started decorating either but I guess this year, I will once again stick to brown, green, white and red...
(I am taking a day off today, yeah!)

Genau meine Farben, Carola. Zartgrün und blau! Allerdings - wo tut man die Sachen hin, die man jahrelang benutzt hat, wenn man die Farben wechselt? Ich kämpfe jährlich damit!
