Art Party Part 1

Thank you all dear blog friends for your congratulations in posts, e-mails, letters and cards, each one made me smile!

I've got cards from the b-day card swap from Wendy, Dixie, Robyn, Maggie, Peggy and Thea so far and a wonderful hand made rose card from Maria another blogger friend. Thank you all so much! xox

So today I start posting pictures from the things we've created and altered on my art party, which was a really lovely and also satisfying experience, that I can only recommend to all of you!

My mum for example has altered an old white woodden card box with pansies, one of her favourite flowers. She is going to use it for storing her seed packets.

Beautiful winter sun

I took these sundown photos in our parc, called Knoops Park, last sunday on a very cold but sunny winter day.

Invitations for my art party

It's my b-day on sunday and I thought about doing something special for a change but had no idea what this could be. Then suddenly last September I came across an article in the US magazine "Cloth Paper Scissors" about someone who gave an art party for her birthday and I thought, what a fantastic idea, that's what I wanna do as well ! So these are 3 of the invitations I've made for my art party:

Well I can tell you that I'm really looking forward to my birthday now :D

Couches and Envelopes

I took this picture for Corey because she has asked for it, when we were talking about couches/sofas through a post on her blog "Tongue in cheek".

Oh and I have to show you the exquisite envelope in which Maria from Finland has sent me the pattern for the skates:

Skates

Yesterday I've had my creative afternoon and made these Victorian skates out of cardboard. Maria from Finland has sent me the pattern/template for them. Thank you so much Maria, I received it yesterday and the envelope you've send it in, made out of a calender page, was really exquisite!

Our beautiful "Harz"

Hello we're back! It was unbelievable beautiful in the Harz (a low mountain range) because we've had the perfect weather :D and I just have to show a few photos:

It's just a three hours drive away from here and I wonder now why we don't go there more often.

The mountain you can see in the background is the highest and most famous one in the Harz, it's called The "Brocken"

This is where witches and devils are supposed to live and I even saw them lol and took a photo of course:

I can't believe she's going to be 18 years old on monday 9th of January the time has passed so fast! I wish her all the happiness, love and success in the world for her 18th birthday!

Memories

I miss the snow, it's gone since 6 days now and I'm looking forward to a little vacation I'm doing with my daugther and my sister on sunday. It's my babies 18th b-day on monday and her wish was to pass the day snowboarding, so we decided to drive up to the Harz. Here are some very old photos of me in the snow near the Harz, were my grandparents lived and a big part of my relatives is still living there. I'm actually looking forward to see them again on sunday :D

The first picture is me at about 11 month old with my mum

I've got mail

This is the scrumptious (to use Alison's fave word) content of my vintage x-mas swap gift from Cindy of http://sauvageblue.blogspot.com/ which I've received on New Years Eve:

A beautiful pink brooch, 4 embroidered wine glass coasters in a net lace bag, a mini puzzle from one my fave artists Marjolein Bastin, pink scented shoe stuffers, a gorgeous little turqouise tea pot with butterflies, a beautiful pink rose bud capsule, an adorable white chrotched doily and a wonderful yellow towel with a green embroidered border, an embossed magnetic verse card and 4 cute little cards with envelopes. I love it all started with the santa box it was in and it was so worth the wait! It 's a perfect treat and I feel really spoiled by Cindy. :D Thank you so much dear Cindy!

And here is a photo of all my 25 Christmas cards I've got this year thanks to Robyn's swaps. I never got so much before and without the swap I would have got only 8.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to my dear blogging friends and neighbours from all over the world! I wish you all good health, luck and contentment in 2006!

And I just have to show you this photo that my sister took and sent to me. They always lay peanuts and walnuts under their Christmas tree outside and apples in a basket and then they can sit at their dining table and watch the birds and the squirrels having dinner as well :D
