Doves or pigeons?

I don't know how you call them, we say "Taube". I took these photos from my friends living room window on Easter sunday. It's a huge, old chestnut tree and it's almost as if she's living in that tree, because it's so close to her balcony

and a little blue tit

You also have a good view over the city of Aachen from her posh apartment and there was an Easter fair that looked beautiful at night through the branches of that tree

Garden News

Hello dear bloggingfriends!

After some more days of vacation I'm back at work today and back to a PC that really works well - I hope! I've missed you all and reading your blogs too, I have a lot to catch up with here in the office and of course in all your wonderful and inspiring blogs too! Thank you all very much for your kind words to my last post. I have the feeling that my bad luck is over now! *fingers crossed*

Friday was a fantastic garden day, the first day over 20 ° celsius /70° fahrenheit and I've been outside in my garden from dusk till dawn er I mean backwards from dawn till dusk, well at least almost lol and I enjoyed it so much!

This is my fave garden seat and friday was the first day I could use it again in this year:

From here I have a good look at these pink daisies and well all over my terrace and a part of my garden too

I'll take some new garden photos tomorrow when the promised sun will hopefully shine!

Hello I'm back

from my little trip since Tuesday and I had a really good time away (have made lots of photos too), but since I'm back here I've had a streak of bad luck. Firstly our PC broke and my daughter has kind of fixed it, but it's still crap because it kicks me out of the Internet everytime I'm trying to e-mail or post *rolls eyes* secondly my car was broke too but I got it fixed yesterday, but then I suddenly realised that my beautiful and beloved very heavy stone statue in the front garden has got stolen, inclusive the stone base/foot she stand on, while I was away. I'm really sad about this. I've had it for 10 years now and I'm missing it :(

Thank you all for your Easter wishes and nice comments on my last post. It was a pleasure to read!

On Monday it's back to normal for me, back to the office and a PC that hopefully works without any complications.

Until I can upload new pictures I have some more curls, scrolls and patterns from my house to post:

Wohoo it worked! I'm quite happy that at least I've managed a post with lots of pictures without getting kicked off again! :D

I'm terribly sorry

to what has happened with a part of my photos on this blog dear readers. I've stored them at Fotopic.net and today I've got an e-mail from them saying the following:

** IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR FOTOPIC.NET ACCOUNT & GALLERIES ***We regret to inform you that your Fotopic account has been suspended due to the violation of our site policy below: Contrary to section 12b of our Terms and Conditions, your account is consuming excessive bandwidth to the extent of degrading the service for other users. This may be because you have linked to an extremely popular external site through our direct-linking facility, or you may have featured in a magazine or a website elsewhere.

I'm now in the process of trying to restore all the photos I've posted to imageshack and then I have to go in all my posts and repost the photos. That'll take some time and seeing that I'm going to leave on a holiday trip this afternoon I cannot fix them all until then, so I ask you to bear with me please until next week on Tuesday, when I'm back from my little trip to Cologne. Thank you!

Flowered for Easter

Little blue Iris are popping out of the grass

and a pink Pelargonium is blooming in a pot on my terrace

Only 2 day's left until Easter starts with Good Friday, so it's about time to do more Easter decoration. Best with fresh flowers like tulips and willow pussies and lot's of eggs and hens and rabbits of course:

It's slowly growing

everywhere in in my garden and in the pots on my patio. I need this photos to have a documentation of the spring to summer difference.

I forgot which bulbs I've planted here oops, but I think it's another type of allium. I love alliums and I've planted different sorts last autumn/fall. No actually now I know that these bulbs are tulips!

This one is a white dicentra spectabilis and on the photo below is the red one, they belong to my favourite late spring plants:

This is a Sedum, one of my favourite autumn plants, what I really like is that this plant is already looking beautiful when it just pops out.

Nest love!

I'm so in love with birds and eggs and bird nests of course ( I like it that nest is the same word in English and German) that I finally had to create my own little bird nest as another spring decoration:

at the moment you find birds and eggs everywhere in my house:

The sun is shining outside and the sky is bright and blue so I'm off in the garden now to hopefully get some nice photos!

Studio Friday "ROOM WITH A VIEW"

This week's topic for Friday April 7th suggested by Susan : ROOM WITH A VIEW
" What is the view like from your studio? Real or imagined..."

Well I must say that I'm very happy with my view because from my desk I have the view directly on my patio and into my garden. I took theses pictures today at 8 am:

Oh I'm quite excited because it's my first time participating in Studio Fridays weekly topic. Read more about Studio Friday here: http://www.tinesparkles.squarespace.com/welcome-to-studio-friday/

German Folkart "Erzgebirgische Volkskunst"

These little fellows called "Blumenkinder" (flower children) are original German folkart (part of a wide collection) carved out of wood from the "Erzgebirge" (Erz-Mountains) you may have heard about this kind of folkart before, it comes from the ex "German Democratic Republic" which isn't exisiting anymore, because we are one nation again, but the folkart from the "Erzgebirge" is still very popular. I like to decorate the flower children in spring time.

Garden Curlicues

I'm a real curly twirly type of person which I've just realised again when I read Pam Garrisons post about scroll patterns on her wonderful and inspiring mixed media art blog http://pamgarrison.typepad.com/ last week. I've had a peek around my house and garden and found scrolls/curlicues/flourishes almost everwhere I looked, so I grabbed my digicam and took some photos ( well some is an understatement lol I took about 100, but don't worry, I won't post them all, at least not today ;-) So here they are fresh from my garden:

And btw, when you look at my last garden photo post, you will find that there are scrolls in almost every picture too without me even realizing it because I was concentrating on the flowers!

P.S. I've just looked back my posts and actually find scrolls in almost all my photos that I've posted on here, whatsoever, could this be a disease?

Friday Night Collage

I couldn't sleep last night because of a terrible headache, so I went down and started a new collage, to distract me from the pain, then, when the collage was finished and I was quite comfortable with it, I made myself a hot water bottle, took another pain killer and went back to sleep, but on the couch lol and when I woke up, hours later, the headache was luckily gone! :D
