Love and Art from the heart!

Comes February I'm getting all in flower mood again! Luckily with my birthday at the end of January I've got lots of new flowers and lovely presents to lift my spirits! And even more to come next Saturday when I'm going to have a party with my best friends :D!

In the picture above are fabric roses which I've decorated in a butterfly paper bag:

This gorgeous flower bouquet was one of the birthday presents from my little sister:
All these lovely flowers in the next picture and the "Dejeuner" tray were birthday presents from my mum:

A close friend sewed and painted this delightful bird & nest cushion for me, it has a Helleborus rose painted on it as well. Thanks a lot dear G. I love it!

And I'm also in the mood for hearts in February and am currently making paper hearts almost every day. Here are a few of which I have finished last week:

And with all the "love and art from the heart" which is going on in blogland at the moment, initialised by the enjoyable Sandy of www.arttealife.blogspot.com , I'd like to join in and give away a paper heart.
So if you like to be my Valentine and get my heart then please leave a comment under this post and I'm going to draw the winner on Friday 9th of February!
If you want to see all the lovely bloggers that have joined in the "love of the heart" then please have a look at Miss ZuZu's magical blog "A view through the window" where she has kindly listed them all! xox

And oh wonder today blogger has finally decided to let me change to the new version :D!

Oh Carol! =^..^=

Your paper hearts ... How scrumptious they are!
I can picture them hanging everywhere in your cottage. Oh, and I do hope one will be mine ... Please place my name in the drawing!! Pretty please!!!

Isn't Valentine's Day wonderful? And it seem as if it is full of magic this year! I love the way you put what is happening ...

"Love and Art from the Heart."

Isn't that true! Starting with the biggest heart of all, Sandy's. One seed of an idea to share friendship with everyone and now ... Blogland is blossoming!

Isn't it grand!
=^..^= love zU

Carol, Chichi would happily crawl inside any box headed to you! I would only need to tell him it was going to the cottage where hazelnuts come from!

He would jump in & pulling the top closed would hand me the tape! Now he thinks boxes --ALL boxes should be filled with Christmas goodies!

You started something!
(around here you are called, Auntie Carol!)

=^..^= xoxo zU and chichi

You make the most beautiful paper hearts! You have such an eye for combining the colors and textures! I have some German paper scraps from my friend's Oma who used to come visit the U.S. each year when we were little girls. She would always bring us Victorian style paper scraps and they were so lovely I never used them, I just looked at them!

"Foof" is just a word I used to describe the somewhat shabby-chic style used to alter the journals. You can find out more about it by visiting: http://teresamcfayden.typepad.com/minutia/ There is also a line of scrapbooking supplies called "Foof a La" by Autumn Leaves.
I LOVE, LOVE, the hearts!, and I would love to be included in the drawing! Thanks for your kind comments and for stopping by the cabin!

Carol, sounds like you had a wonderful birthday and received some beautiful presents. Happy belated birthday to you! Your flowers are a breath of fresh air to me here in the frigid cold of our winter in NY. Yes, the cold and snow has finally settled in after such a warm and rainy December and part of January.
What lovely hearts you've created and so generous of you to give one away.
congratulations on the changeover!

Oh, I missed out on all the Valentine heart give-aways. ;-(
I've been feeling down lately, as I worked for 3 months on some art, and in the end didn't get paid. The life of an artist.. we can live on air and water! And I haven't been visiting other people's blogs much either.
But here I am, just to say hello!
Nice of you to come visit my blog! Oh, yes, you should get a witch hazel, they are quite small trees, and so pretty in winter!
