Roses!

I love them very much in nature and on almost everthing, but especially on old table ware, tins etc.. I collect them for two decades now and since I'm always stunned by the beautiful pictures of it when I see them in magazines, I thought to take my own pictures of my antique rose table ware last sunday. A closer look

Now this is a closer look at my latest collage that Ulla had already spotted in the background of another blogphoto. I've made this rose collage for a swap, it was a pleasure doing it and it has found it's place in England now, at Kristy's lovely Edwardian style home over at http://www.vintagepleasure.typepad.com/. I'm so relieved that you like it Kristy and I'm sorry for the grinning posty waking you up so early on a saturday morning! I'm the more looking forward to get your parcel with the beautiful Edwardian shoe! Yes swaps are so much fun!

Antique stencil kit

My mum gave me this antique stencil kit that she has once found on a flea market, thinking I could use it in my artwork. I've tried out the letter KR and it looks great!

Monet's first wife Camille

This is from the Monet and Camille Exhibiton here in Bremen.

It's Camille going for a walk in the moonlight while it's snowing. Made out of paper and foldable into an envelope. A gorgeous little piece of artwork, don't you think?

Things I love

I love glass!

And my newest glass thing is this glass jar with an emblem and I love little quail eggs, so even Easter ist still over 7 weeks away I couldn't resist to put some of them into my new jar. It has almost my initials, well almost lol my forename starts with a C and not a G, but hey who cares, as long as it looks so beautiful?

Then as sometimes I just can't get enough I 've filled another glass jar with quail eggs

Swap News!

Yesterday I've got my Valentine's swap card from Maggie Ann at knittermag.blogspot.com and I'm so touched by the way she's putted this together for me. It's all so beautiful! It's a big double collaged card with a pocket in it where she has tucked a delightful old postcard from 1912, a poem, a favorite recipe and lovely letter (she has a fantastic hand writing) in. What were three things you wanted to be when you grew up?

Maybe this sounds boring, but it’s the truth! I’ve had no idea, really. It was so hard to pick something after I’d finished school

Well I became

a pharmacy assistant at first, but I didn’t like it at all, so I finished that after 3 years

then an au pair girl in France for 12 month, which was a fantastic experience and which I’d do again if I could lol

then a mother of a lovely daughter which was a very exciting experience and which I’ve never ever regretted and of course I’m still a mother

and last but not least a secretary, which I’m still today

But I’ve never thought to become one of these.

If I’d could choose again today I’d like to become a decorator or some sort of artist.

Good Morning and a very Happy Valentine's Day to all of you!

Thank you so much Wendy (Fairycakegirl) for the lovely surprise which I received yesterday! The heart and the card are beautiful and I also wanna thank my friend Maria from Finland for her gorgeous handmade Valentines card that I've got on Friday and Nicole from Germany for the divine round vintage tag that I've also got yesterday! I've never ever got something for St. Valentines before (it's not such a big tradition over here) so I enjoyed this even more! Thank you xxx

Fashion of the 19th century

I'm absolutely fascinated by the fashion of the 19th century.

This is a collage that I've just finished:

See the hat of the lady in the middle? Isn't that a crazy thing, just imagine running around with a hat like that.

Well then yesterday I've visited an art exhibition in Bremen's hall of art whith the title "Monet et Camille"

and now this fashion is fascinating me even more, there are paintings from Monet where he's painted his wife Camille and paintings of other famous impressionists like Manet, Renoir and Carolus Duran and their muses or just ladies they've painted in order for rich people. And the common theme was the fashion and especially the wonderful robes. I just could'nt help myself buying me a paper doll that I now can dress in different robes. She's my modell, see:
