is that one can do other things than gardening or relaxing in the garden for a change. On Sunday, a very rainy day, I have rediscovered my other creative side and have created a new collage. I've had a break from collage for a few months, but I've kept collecting papers, fibers, brads, stamps, ideas, inspirations etc.. Seeing that I have this obsession for birds, nests and eggs for a long time now it was clear to me that this would be the theme for the first collage in my new crafting corner upstairs in my loft room. So this is what I came up with and I hope that you'll like it:

and for a closer look:
Another thing I've tried to do a few weeks ago was a banner because seeing all the lovely banners for example at Pam Garrisons inspirational site http://pamgarrison.typepad.com/ and also from her article in the last Somerset studio zine I wanted to own one too. The only problem is that I can't sew so I've created this little banner from cardboard:

I know it's nowhere as gorgeous as Pam's, but bear with me please because I'm just a beginner! At least it was fun to work on!

Yours are as nice! You have green thumbs, a beautiful heart, and hands with creative energy! What a wonderful time i have coming and peeking into your world Carol, it is a lovely placed shared with you.
You artwork is delightful!
Carol I am really impressed! You are creative to the core this piece defines who you are and as a fan of your garden photos this is an impression of what we have seen in your garden photos!Nicely done!
Thats' a lovely collage! I love to decorate with a nature theme using bird nest and prints with birds...I like the banner too!
I love the collage and the banner Carol. They both turned out wonderful. Really lovely! Don't compare your work to other's. It's the YOU in yours that makes it special. If all our work looked the same...well, how boring that would be!
I thought Pam Garrison was very generous in her instructions for the banners in Somerset. I want to try and make one "someday" too.
Carol,
What a wonderful banner and collage! You are so creative.
Oh boy these are beautiful...we have had the best summer for centuries (and still the weather is WARMER than usually) so I havent had time for collages at all. BUT just wait those rainy, dark evenings...perfect days for crafts. I especially loved your blue papers....
I like your banner very much Carol! I like the idea that its cardboard really...makes it adaptable for collage. Mayhap I'll give one a try..who knows..=)
I love the banner too, Carol, and especially I understand your fixation with birds, nests, and eggs. I have it too! On a bench on my back porch I keep old birds' eggs I have found on the lawn and one day some magpies raided my collection thinking they were fresh eggs! Greedy creatures, but it made me laugh!
I adore your collage Carol! full of color and romantic swirls... And your banner is delightful. I love how you take an idea and just run with it, putting your own touch and magic into it!
The collage is wonderful. I especially love the birds, the nest with the little eggs..
I love your collage, Carol...I also love the whole birds, nest, and eggs theme. And I think the banner came out great!
I am enjoying your site very much,

Never realised you hadn't been there yet.
;-)
I love all your little treasures, there's a sweey little birdhouse in one of the pics, sooo cute!
I love the banners and what a good idea making them out of card. I have always found glue and paint much easier than sowing.
Your garden is looking more wonderful than ever.
Oh my! How very beautiful! Love the birds...Love the flowers....Love it all! Keep creating!
These are so pretty Carol!
I bet you`re having fun making them :)
I left a note at my blog from your reply about the show. I have a link at the side too under the Web Pages I Enjoy. The best thing would be to Google it and see where you can watch it in your country.

Wow fantastic things over here!!
Such a lovely collage, Carol. I know what you mean about looking forward to a new season and the opportunity to concentrate on other activities. I always used to love wet days in summer because it gave me a good excuse to stay inside and do some of those other hobbies. Now that I'm retired I can pick and choose my activities as I like. Lucky, aren't I?
Hello!
