Welcome back to Boxwood Cottages and my first post in the new year dear blogging friends and readers! I hope you all had a great time over the holidays and are already back in full swing in 2009. I had a little problem getting back in swing with a cold I catched and then very much work in the office during the first week after the holidays, but now I have adjusted again and I'm full of creative energy which I could finally use in my studio again, making Vintage Valentine Tinsel Heart wall hangings this weekend:

For the 3 Tinsel hearts that I decorated on my mantle I used Vintage materials like orginal old German sheet music paper and old cabinet photo cards from the flea market and herited Vintage lace, as well as some Dresden foil papers and Boullion from my stash and also other supplies that I bought or swapped from/with flickr friends like Jennifer Jinette, Cerri of the Little Pink Studio, Andrea of Onehundred Wishes, Heather of Speckled Eggs and Sarah of My so called junky life.

I'm pretty pleased with the way they turned out, they have got the nostalgic look that I was hoping for. See the tiny brass amor dangling from this heart?

I also made a few pink hearts. I find these two turtle doves from Cerri, that I've pasted on a Valentine paper banner that I made myself just so sweet!

For the Valentine heart above and the Valentine heart box below and also for the Valentine heart in the last photo of this post I also used the beautiful fabric yoyos I got send from my friend Anita last year:

For the box cover I've put the yoyo on a pink vintage milliney flower:

If you are interested in one of my hearts you are welcome to send me an e-mail to the e-mail addy you'll find in my profile under contact and I'll send you the infos you'll need to decide if you want to purchase one.
Have a very good start in a hopefully creative and happy new year 2009 everyone!
XOXO
Carola

Hi Carola,
I so love the hearts you created. They are all beautiful but the first one is my favorite. I often wondered if you had a shop or sold your beautiful creations. It was so good to see a post from you!
Hugs,
Kathy

Hallo Carola,
du warst ja wieder fleissig. Die Herzen sind alle wunderschön geworden.
Die Idee mit dem Tinsel und der Tasche ist toll, aber das pink/ rosafarbene mit den Tauben gefällt mi auch total gut.

Helou!
Thank you for letting me "borrow" your picture :)
Do you have a photo of your potting table also?
/Nina
Hi Nina,
you are very welcome!
Have a look at my post from May 3rd 2007 for example to find pictures of my potting table.
I would love to put your potting table in "my collection", if it's ok with you :) I will mention- and link to your blog...
(By the way...I have an exactly same Garden-sign my self :)
Your wall hangings are just beautiful.
Leaving for Germany first thing in the morning! Wish I would have time to travel around but this is the first year I'm not taking the kids so I am wanting to hurry through the trip to get back home to the girls. Otherwise I would be very likely to pop in on you!!
I would love to see your crafts in person! That would be a treat. I especially love the red heart box. realize I need to start celebrating Valentine's day with my girlfriends. These kind of things are lost on my husband. Maybe I'll start making Valentines for Ulla - I could make something properly frilly and pink!!
Best wishes,
Karima
Helou there!
I have a challange for you on my blog...
/Nina
AH...your decorations are so lovely! You always have such beautiful creations! :) Mendy
Those are the prettiest hearts I have ever seen. You did a wonderful job. I am falling in love with this art form.
Will visit you often too.

Hallo Carola,
Your turtle doves are fabulous. Thanks for stopping by at my blog last week. I am addicted to paper and tinsel as well. We used to live in the Stuttgart area and now in Ohio. I love the Bremen und Bremerhaven area.
Hoffnung haben Sie ein großes Neujahr 2009!
Liebe Grüße, Barbara
Carola you are now queen of hearts..just until our gardens open for a new season..all your creativity will then transform your outside space into a queen's garden!
Your hearts are just beautiful! Laurie

Just happened to find your blog by chance. It's stunning - your handiwork is remarkable, love those little hearts on the fireplace. Great work!
Carol,
How did I miss your sweet Valentines last time i visited??
They are wonderful.
Got your entry to the drawing.
Had no clue you were from Germany.
Just saw your lovely work and did not read your profile.
Love that we can 'see' the work of others around the world, and visit too.
Blessings on your Monday, and on all your creative projects.

Hi Carole!
I think the entire world has been jolted and have needed a rest. I actually did not mind being ill with a cold for so long... for it made me rest, I had no choice. and when the voice goes also, your family believes that you are really sick!
I hope the sun is shing into your cottage windows and onto that beautiful garden of yours!
OH! LOVE your valentines!!!
Hugs,
Mary
Oh Carol! Everything is gorgeous. You have such wonderful talent.
Karla
Your tinsel hearts are quite an inspiration for me. Makes me want to get out all of my favorite treasures and do something with them rather than let them sit in a box. Thanks! I always enjoy your blog and your art.
