Welcome to Boxwood Cottage!

So glad that you found me! My blog is about everything I love like gardening, decorating my home & garden and crafting. Shop opening and sunny garden Sunday!

Hello dear blogging friends and readers!

I hope you all had a splendid weekend! Mine was wonderful, Saturday we've planted lots of Violas and other spring flowers and yesterday was the first real sunny spring day and I've spend the whole day in the garden :D. The temperature has even reached 21 degrees celsius in the sun on my patio! I took some pictures of course, but first I have a very exciting announcement to make, maybe not as exciting for you as it is to me lol it's the opening of my own Etsy shop !

I proudly present to you "Boxwoodcottage" Decorational crafts & more! My daughter was so kind to make me the shop banner above. I've got several e-mails from blog readers lately with the question if I would also sell my hearts, collages etc. and I thought Etsy would be the best way to do it. Also the purchase through Etsy and the payment through Paypal is so very easy! For the beginning I've created 4 Easter egg collages and also added 4 heart collages to the shop, but there is more to follow, I'll keep you updated here on my blog. I'd appreciate your feedback and hope that you'll like my little shop! Just click on the banner to go there! Thank you!

Back to the garden now! Here is the patio view on sunny Sunday morning:

My hanging baskets and pots are slowly getting filled again with fresh flowers:

Also my crocusses have finally opened their blooms:

This is the stunning view to my right hand neighbour:

It's spring! :D

Lastly I like to thank all you lovely people to the overwhelming response to my "Tribute to Summer" post! I loved to read all your kind comments, keep them coming please :D! I wish you all a wonderful spring week ahead! xox

LG Lis

Your new shop is lovely Carol. I wish you all the best with it. My goal is to open an Etsy shop next year with photo cards. It is still in the thinking stages at the moment. Oh how I love your garden photos. I'm quite sure you would take gorgeous photos with any camera at hand; you're a natural. Perhaps the Olympus will give you years more use. I do hope so. I'm looking forward to seeing more of your beautiful photos through the season. xoxoxo

Your patio and new plants are beautiful, Carol! You inspire me! I worked in my garden yesterday as well, but haven't planted my pansy's yet. It's still a little chilly here, but my daffodils finally did start blooming yesterday.

Thanks for sharing! I love your blog.

Congratulations on your new adventure!!! I know that you will be very successful with your wonderful crafts. As for the garden, oh it is so beautiful. I can't believe the weather you are having. Is that normal in Germany to have 21 celius in mid March? We are still covered in ugly, grey melting snow. The temperature hovers around 5 degrees celius. Downright balmy compared to what we have been having. I think I will go back to looking at your gorgeous pictures and I will pretend I am there feeling the warm spring sun on my face. TWT

Well done for opening up such a lovely shop. All your work is stunning and so inspiring!!

I have looked at opening an etsy shop. There are quite a few blogs with etsy attached and it seems to be a popular place to sell handmade items.

Happy Crafting.
best wishes Ginny

Congratulations Carol on opening your Etsy Shop. May it be a great success, but I’m sure it will be, your creative talents are so gloriously tempting. I hope you will be giving each treasure your personal signature.

Your garden, as always looks lovely, I can always find something different to see in your pictures, so I never tire of seeing the same scene.

Carol, thank you for your support in sending a postcard to the children of Iche, it is very much appreciated and you asked a very good question in the comment you left for me on that very same posting. I consulted Christopher and here is his answer........

Good question Carol...
The problem of garbage waste is a real problem in Saharan towns. When we visit we make sure that everything we take is in degradable cardboard boxes, for example, the computers will be unpacked in Switzerland and repacked into degradable cardboard boxes to take to the school.

Most villages burn their rubbish, however, some are starting to use land fill sites, but it is still a real mess, its almost impossible to find a clean beach anywhere on the Moroccan and Western Saharan coast line, plastic bags fly for miles into the Sahara and this is the reason why many tourists are encouraged by the guide books not to accept plastic bags to carry goods they buy in towns unless they take them home with them.

Lieben Gruss,

WOW Carol your own Etsy shop !!! Congratulations on your new business. Your garden is looking lovely and so much further ahead than ours. We are slowly (too slowly) seeing the snow melt here. For the past week the birds have been singing in the early mornings which is a sure sign that things are about to change.

Congratulations on opening your etsy shop, Carol! I will go and have a look once I finish typing this comment. Your photos are again so very lovely! To me, it looks like it is already summer in your yard! We have nothing blooming yet. I haven't even spotted a snowdrop or crocus in my yard. I can always dream when I look at your lovely pictures!

Hi Carol,
Marie
