Box wood (Buxus) in my garden

I've plenty of box wood hedges in my front and in my back yard mostly with ivy growing underneath and I've spend 3 days to cut them all with sheep scissors *phew*

god you must have been busy with the scissors. The result is good.Do you use the clippings? After i cut my hedge there was so many clippings.I used them to fill a hole because they were too woody to compost.

yes it's true Carol, the magazines are too much expensive, Sommerset is too expensive (74 usd) CPS is reasonable (39 usd) if you buy them one by one it's much more expensive yes it's true, let's see what I will do, but I think that I'm going to try CPS, but I need to see it first. :)

Carol your boxwoods so meticulously trimmed! I can imagine the time spent!! We are planning to surround an urn centred in our back with boxwoods
and your phots demonstrate the effect. Oh your garden is heaven! Fly me there immediately!

I know it's a lot of work to maintain such a beautiful and large garden but the end results are breathtaking and worth all the work you put into it. You have a garden that a lot of us can only dream about...so I'll dream of yours! lol

Hi Carol... What a surprise, you show parts of your garden that I don’t think I’ve seen before, the front, its lovely. I love both box hedges and box planted up in pots and clipped nicely into shape. I agree, it is a time consuming task and like you I use sheep shearing scissors, well that was until last weekend, when John asked if I wanted my hedge cutting and he zipped along it in a matter of minutes using his electric hedge cutter. My box in pots I didn’t let him near. I enjoy cutting them, time consuming, but therapeutic, I feel.

I planted my box hedge all from cuttings I’d rooted myself. Marion

As Marion said, photos of your garden that we've not seen before. It looks much bigger than I thought. You keep it looking beautiful, Carol. I hope you have time to relax in it as well. I would love my garden to be that green come summer time, but I know it won't. I'll just have to come back and look at your photos again.

That must of taken ages with sheep scissors. I love to paint box, luckily it never grows on the paintings so I don't have to cut them!

That bird box is wonderful.

I'm trying to plan a new garden picture and its lovley inspiration.
