Welcome to Boxwood Cottage!

So glad that you found me! My blog is about everything I love like gardening, decorating my home & garden and crafting. Although I'm from Germany I write my blog in English so that hopefully every visitor can read it. Hope you'll stay a while and will leave me a comment so that I know that you were here! xoxo Carola

Carol, your Mother is a kindred soul!!! How amazing her collection is! I love her prams, and baby beds, and the old sewing machine, and how she has everything out for show. Is the little sewing machine a toy or does it really work? Also the huge rabbit with the wheelbarrow on top of the cupboard, is it paper mache or wood? oh goodness and now I see the toy tea sets, and the german figures, and the sweet doll with her fully loaded cupboard... I can just look at these images for days!!! Thank you so much for sharing!

Oh my goodness your mother's home is a treasure dream. So much to take in. I will have to look a number of times. I also loved the old sewing machine and the tiny pram (I could see flowers in that too). I also wanted to comment on your xmas stockings (had a horrible time getting in to comment before). I love them!!!Though it was hard to decide I think the gold and green one is my favourite. They cheered me up so much that for awhile I didn't mind the idea of no garden and loads of snow. TWT

Wow, what treasures your mother has! I could get lost in there just looking at her stuff. Her home looks so cosy and inviting - and a little like a dolls house.

Oh Carol how nice! So that's the place where you grew up, right? It definitively inspired you! Me too, I have such an old sewing machine in our living room. I initially intended to put it on the patio as a kind of table for my little pots. But I am still hesitant to do so, it's too precious.
Enjoy your week-end!
P.S.:By the way, the annual autum show in Hannover-Herrenhausen starts today. I am thinking of going there.... http://www.herbstfestival-herrenhausen.de/

This could be one of your treasure shops you showed before (window shopping in Bremen) I'm sure people would buy all stuff right away. Especially I love these old dolls. Just think who has played with them...is there some of your mothers or even grandmothers?
Carol, I remind you of the candle pic(s). I'd be so pleased to see some of yours too....

Wow your mums house is wonderful. Her dolls house is wonderful too. I love dolls houses never having a nice one with stairs. It made me build tower blocks out of small cardboard boxes untill my little brother knock it all over.

Your mothers home is so nice, Carol. It is a great collection. Like the museum in Hanau! But - I won't clean this house!

Carol... Thank you for sharing the lovely photographs taken in your house and garden and also Mum’s. What a delight they are. Your blog is always a joy to explore. I often think it can’t get any better, then you excel yourself and show us even more fascinating and wonderful things.

I do agree the rusty angel is gorgeous and would grace your garden beautifully.

I have so much enjoyed the pictures taken at your Mum’s house. I think a visit there would have to be a long one, for there is so much to see and enjoy. It must be from your Mother you have inherited your artistic skills and appreciation for all these lovely things. Does she have a special room where she keeps her dolls & toy collection or are they simply all over the house. I am reminded of a Museum of Childhood that I once visited. Fascinating!

Thank you so much, these have been gorgeous postings, so too, your house and garden and night.

Love - Marion
