Welcome to Boxwood Cottage!

So glad that you found me! My blog is about everything I love like gardening, decorating my home & garden and crafting. Although I'm from Germany I write my blog in English so that hopefully every visitor can read it. Hope you'll stay a while and will leave me a comment so that I know that you were here! xoxo Carola

Treasures

Sitting at my desk while sipping my latte machiato this morning I kept looking at some of my buttons, beads etc. and suddenly I felt really rich and just had to take some photos of the prettyness:

Buttons! buttons! How I loved to play with many colourful buttons Mother kept in her special button box. I'd spend hours grouping them into colours, sizes and patterns, all on the kitchen table, then I'd be reminded to pack them away when Dad was due home for supper. A lovely reminder of those days. Buttons and beads. Wonderful things to play with for both young and old. I played with beautiful glass beads from broken necklaces as a child. Those beads would be worth a fortune now. Shame they all got lost.

Do you use your collection, Carol, or just look at it? Either way, it brings you pleasure.

I love your gorgeous button collection photos and those antique stencils are such a treasure. How wonderful to have those. Your collages are just delightful...isn't it interesting how very individual they turn out? Each one is like a gift to the artist...all that fun making them to boot!
